Odpod Shipping Container Home Access Stairs
To pass the final test for the building surveyor we needed to build some steps. (The fancy word for this is access and egress) This is to make sure the house has safe access. We made the laundry to the back yard access set of stairs using a lasercut corten frame and spotted gum timber treads. The frames were welded together in parts and then fixed with masonry anchors into a concrete slab. The design was first made on computer to make sure it would look good before we ordered any materials. The 2nd set of steps was made using recycled pallets and an old jarrah deck. We built everything in place and modified the pallets to fit the area.
The beer tap is working well and the kitchen is fully functional, there are a few extra pictures to show the current progress. We restored the dining table after finding it on the side of the road.
